This place is awesome. Authentic Italian food at decent prices. Worth the drive out to Jax Beach and back. The owner is one of the chefs and he makes a point to come out and talk to as many of his guests as he can. All of the food is cooked on site and never frozen. Kids menu is limited but the quantity of food is huge. My 8 year could not finish the kids pizza. Chicken Marsala was so tender it did not need a knife. Chicken Parmesan was delicious! Almost forgot to take a pic of it I inhaled it so fast.

We asked for the deluxe pizza. It took over 30 minutes to get it and we were only 3 of about 15 people in the place. Asked for it well done. It was soggy. Asked for water refills. Never got it. And on top of all this, about 30 people came in just before our pizza came and that was the end of any kind of service. Couldn't even get a knife and fork. Can't tell you how many times we asked for the check. Won't be going back

Our server was awesome! Very personable, friendly, professional. That said, the food was bad. Not "I lived in Italy so this can't compare" bad (although I did)... Figured pizza would be safe. Saw pizza at the table next to ours and it looked great!! So. Figured generic pizza safer. The crust is more bread-like, and doesn't remotely resemble pizza crust. The cheese wasn't delicious, gooey pizza cheese...seemed to be skimmed milk cheese. My friend's chicken with pasta dish was SWIMMING in oil or butter..half the bowl deep. Always risky dining in a specialty place near a touristy beach area...this place fits in. I must add again, though, the service was fabulous!

Super impressed with the entire experience. The service was fantastic, the food was amazing and oh my goodness such fantastic portions. I'm beyond excited about returning here soon when I come back into town. I even own a pizza place and Italian kitchen and they impressed me very much. Owner was very friendly and made us feel like we were guests at his house. Highly recommend.

Milano's is one of my go to places for Italian at the beach. The delivery is always fast. The prices are reasonable and the meals are large - like 2 in 1. We usually get the mozzarella sticks or calamari appetizers which are more than enough for two people to split. They both come with marinara sauce and the calamari with lemon. I will order a large Greek salad most days which is again is more than enough. I will eat half for dinner and save the other half for lunch the next day. My other go to is the supreme calzone....yum! It is loaded with veges, pepperoni, sausage, ricotta, and mozzarella...they give you one marinara but ask for an additional cause you will have leftovers. Again, the food is great and the portions huge...give them a try.

Good beach restaurant & bar. Killer Long Island Ice Tea, $9 for a pitcher & they are seriously strong. Good Italian menu with lots of pasta options, page of chicken dishes, veal dishes, pizzas, salads, excellent appetizers, calzones, lots of shrimp & mussels, even cold & hot subs and a few wraps. Also a kids menu & desserts. Bonus, lots and lots of red wine choices; perfect for the food!

Awesome first time visit. They offer a baked chicken parm that is fried BUT, you can request the non-fried option to save the calories. Down side? Yes, smoking allowed out front and you must walk past to enter!

Five stars! The chef checked in with us several times to make sure we were good. Best pizza we've had in a long time! Great find in Jacksonville Beach!! Tatiana was our server - she was awesome and knowledgeable of the menu. The chef personally wrapped our leftover pizza slices so they would fit in our hotel fridge! Excellent service!! Perfect dinner!!!

Soggy soggy pizza. We were told it was the fresh mushrooms. Really? Dough was blah! Nothing good to say, service didn't deserve a tip. Won't be back.

We went here for dinner this evening and we were very happy we did, as we think we may have found our new "go to" Italian dinner spot. My wife ordered the Chicken Parmassian with a house salad and an iced tea. The Chicken and salad were both excellent, but she said the tea was a little weak for her liking. I had the Shrimp Pomodoro and a Caesar salad with a coke (as I'm not able to drink alcohol with the medication I am taking) everything I had was excellent. We can't wait to get back here again and try some of the other delicious entree's available The service was great and the ambiance was fantastic.

I love Milano's. I had ordered delivery a few times and it was always good enough, but this place really shines when you visit the brick and mortar location. As huge Miami Dolphins fans, my girlfriend and I went to eat in for the first time back in October for the Dolphins Thursday night game. As most of us in Jacksonville know, Thursday seems to be dollar slice, dollar beer, dollar wine night in the area. Although Milano's only offers the first two, there was nothing to complain about. The dollar slices were huge, delicious NY slices, and even though Bud Light is terrible you can't complain when you're paying a dollar for a pint. When my girlfriend and I can walk out well fed and feeling happy for ~$15, I am going to love the place. Can't say enough about how welcoming Milano's is and I can't wait to go back for another Thursday night.

Was a bit disappointed by this place based on the reviews. They don't have anything on their lunch menu past 4pm, so we couldn't get slices of pizza (only whole pizzas). The garlic bread was quite good but the salads were pretty generic and blah. I got the chicken cacciatore which was tasty, but seemed like something I could easily cook up myself. My friends got the meat lasagna and chicken parmesan and they were both pretty disappointed. Perhaps we should've just gotten pizza. The beer selection was also a bit lacking, which is understandable since it's an Italian restaurant.

Great, casual, local Italian Restaurant. Service was great. Very friendly despite the place being packed tonight! $1 pizza slices on Thursdays and $1 Yuengling drafts. The only thing keeping from going with a fifth star was that the food was just "pretty good." But you definitely get more than your money's worth! Why spend more at a chain when you've got a great local place with great service?! Go ahead and check it out!

Super nice owner/chef - very friendly and good food. I had the lasagna and my son had meatballs.

The best part of the meal was the wine. We ordered a half cheese/half pepperoni pizza to split. Way too much cheese (and I like cheese) on the pizza. Sauce was almost tasteless and inconsistent on the pie. Crust was too thick to be NY style. Very "bready" in texture and taste. We really wanted to like it but it was just was not that good. Not sure we will be back.

Super delicious calzone!!! I shared with my friend because they are huge. Fun, happy hour prices, although the bartender left something to be desired with her personality. I would definitely go back to try the pizza or any of the italian dishes. I'm excited to find a decent italian place at the beach!

I have loved my little neighborhood family-owned Italian restaurant for the two years I've lived around the corner. Keep reading and you'll see why I'm only giving it three stars. The food has typically been good to great. They have an eggplant parm I used to order all the time to split between myself and my boyfriend, who can really tear up some food. Like most entrees, it comes with a big salad (get the house-made Italian dressing), garlic bread and a side of spaghetti. For $12, that was the biggest, best and cheapest dinner for two I knew of. They also have the cheesiest pizza around (great dough too) and a chicken noodle soup so fresh and so amazing, it put my grandma's to shame (sorry grandma!). Juicy chicken and veggies so fresh, you'd think they made it 2 minutes ago. It's my go-to when I'm sick. I also love their meatball appetizer - it's a meal, sometimes two for me - but is so good. So I have been a fan. The problem is that lately, it just seems to be going downhill. I stopped ordering the eggplant parm after getting a really mediocre order twice in a row. It was barely warm and mushy, and a little bland. Then when I asked the waitress for a recommendation for something else from their "dinners" selections, she told me they were basically all the same - noodles and red sauce. You don't have to be a good waitress to know not to tell customers something like that. I mean, humor me and lie if you have to. Anyway. The real kicker was when my boyfriend and I were dining in after a rough week and just wanted an easy, predictable dinner. The electricity went out in the middle of our meal, and without saying a word about it, the waitress asked us if we'd like our food boxed up. We had a laugh about dining by the warm glow of flood lights, but it was handled so poorly that it became pretty unfunny. Everyone seemed to know the drill and started shutting down and the kitchen staff started moving food out of the beeping fridge, as if it had happened many times. No manager came to apologize or explain or comp some of our meal. Then they couldn't run my card so they asked me to sign a receipt of my order after writing my card number down to run my card later, which felt so sketchy I should have just told them no, too damn bad they didn't pay their electric bill and left. But I didn't, and instead I left pissed and vowed to never return. And I haven't.

We split our time between NJ and Jax and while down in jax for a long weekend at the beach, we were craving some Italian and thought we would give this place a try mainly based on 16 positive yelp reviews. I have to point out that our town in NJ is a place where you can still take Italian lessons at the local church and between our local place where the owner comes from Italy and eating Italian in NYC, where I work, we brought some pretty big expectations to our meal at Milanos in jax beach. While the service was okay we had a few issues but the apology was quick and I will chalk it up to random bad luck so I guess it was okay. The food, on the other hand was not so okay. My chicken parm was pretty bland with dry chicken and sauce that didn't really have any taste. My wife had baked ziti and the most noteworthy comment from her was it was salty. My teenage son went for the pizza and I tried a little piece and noted that it had a lot of cheese and the same sauce as my chicken parm (see above). Our ceaser salads came without any dressing (oops) and the garlic bread had no garlic (double oops). I want to be kind to a business that is about 300 feet from our place down here, but it really just wasn't that good. Maybe even bad if I must be brutally honest. Maybe they were having a bad night. Maybe if you eat Italian within 25 miles of NYC you should never have it anywhere else. I don't know, but all in all this was a dissapointment.

Food was ok. The subs are pretty good. My son who is 3 loved the food. He is a picky eater.

Took the wife and teenagers out for dinner. We got the breadsticks, house salad, and a Surf and Turf pizza. The breadsticks were plentiful and good with the marinara sauce. The pizza was really good with the shrimp and steak on it. The service was a little on the slow side that is about my only drawback.

Foods good. A/c half ass working been like this every time I come here. Cooks dripping sweet over the food it's so hot. Employees say the seal on beer door is busted and that's why half their beer selection is warm.

Have always enjoyed our meals here. Tonight no exception. Our server was busy and forgot to bring bread with our entree as a result the owner not only brought bread but complementary desserts. Food here is always fresh and delicious..

This place was such a great surprise. Originally we were planning on going to metro diner for lunch, which is in the same plaza, but they were closed. I'm kind of glad they were because this place was so good! We got the bruschetta to start, and it was very unique. The toppings came in a bowl instead of on the bread, and the bread was soft and toasted. Everything tasted homemade and delicious! Then, I ordered the calzone with pepperoni, which was also one of the best I've ever had. My mom had the ravioli which she really enjoyed. Since they make their cannoli, I had to try it. YUM! I bet you are thinking I was stuffed, and yes there was plenty left over. I greatly enjoyed it the next day. I will be going back for sure.

I was hesitant to try this Milano's because of my delivery experience with the other one on Atlantic. But I must give it better reviews. We sat outside, were early for the lunch crowd so we had the wait staff to ourselves. So of course they were timely and attentive, can't say how they are in the middle of the rush though. The place is decorated like the other locations with the murals and obligatory pizzeria paraphernalia. But more importantly, the pizza was good. Not great, but good with a relaxing atmosphere and good sweet tea. I will go back to this location.

This has to be the worst pizza I have ever ordered. It is nothing more than a gob of cheese on a tasteless base. I thought it was inedible and after one slice left the rest. If your goal is to eat a pound of cheese and flavor isn't important than this is the place for you

Great Calzones. Less saucy with sauce provided on side most ingredients are premium and simple. Specifically, the Mozarella and Italian Style Ricotta. True Italian is simple with less sophistication. This is a great option for those hotel camping on Jacksonville Beach. Give them a try!

This is a great place to dine if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of a franchise restaurant. Try the fettucine alfredo with shrimp. It is so delicious. Olive Garden has nothing on this place.

Just OK for this Milano at 1504 N 3rd St , Jax Beach. Yes, you can find the coupon in Mint magazine for this place. However, prepare to deal with complicated rules regarding the discount coupon. Pasta, Veal, and Garlic Bread -- nothing was the hit. No wonder why it was so quiet ( 20 % seat occupied ) even on Friday night.

As my never-ending quest for the best NY style pizza in the Jax Beaches area continues, I've got to put THIS Milano's up near the top. (NOT the one on Beach at Kernan ... that's another story ... a bad one.) THIS Milano's is in a dead heat with D'Fontana's right now. The crust here is super thin, the sauce is tangy, and the cheese is just the right amount. Plus, it's consistent. Been here a few times and the slices have been on point each trip. They've got a nice little lunch special with two slices and a beverage for $5. And now that many places charge you $8 for a s#&%* sandwich alone, this deal becomes even more attractive. The interior is kind of wacky/tacky, but if you picture it as a pizza joint not an Italian ristorante, that doesn't really matter. (Jax Italian cuisine is another story altogether.) So to recap: great pizza, good price and service, not far from the beach. I'm all set. I'll be back here, and will hope that Kernan location can get it together someday, too. Highly recommended (for pizza).

So the crew went to do laundry three door's down from Milano's on the Beach and spotted this place. Al the owner/operator is one cool cat. 99 cent Bud drafts and 79 cent on Thursday which is "ladies night". Nice digs, alot nicer than I'd expect for a strip-mall eatery. I got the Chicken Parm. sandwich which was defo above par. Not the best I 've ever had, the chicken was spot on but I could of used a little more marinara but hey I do love me a sloppy sandwich. The service though is where it's at Al took care of us like we were family, by the end of our meal we were swapping stories about ex-wives and busting my friend Matt's balls about getting engaged. I had my fill of those 99 cent Bud's and Al kept them coming. I'm just sad we bought a washer and dryer. Oh, well guess I'll have to make a special trip to go and see Al.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
